Screen Based Assignment #2: The Digital Life: Heaven and Hell



We live in a time where machines, computers and software do many of the tasks once done by our hands and minds. The web has transformed everything in our lives now: from the way we shop for our groceries via online grocers, communicate with our family and friends via email, and meet our potential mates on websites such as Match.com


A. Objective

1. This assignment can be treated as either an extension of your previous Assignment (#1 - New York City) or as a entirely new networked project.

2. Create a visually interesting online screen-based project that describes your personal vision of the a "Digital Heaven" and a "Digital Hell".

3. Use Flash MX2004 to create this project.

4. If you are new to Flash: explore text, drawing (vector images), bitmaps, sound and basic actionscripting. If you have been working with Flash for awhile: explore more indepth actionscritping concepts.

5. Explore the contrasts between your 2 worlds: Heaven and Hell. Which is better? Maybe neigher, maybe both?


B. Technical Requirements

1. Create 5 hyperlinked web pages or flash screens.

2. Delivery must be online. You must use Flash MX and sound in your project. Upload all files to your server space at shell.mfaca.sva.edu.


C. Due Dates

1. Email schematic/project overview to Russet before class on 10/28/04 (class 8).

2. Completed Assignment #2 preseneted in class 11 (11/18/04).
