Upcoming due dates

Due Monday, April 5th:
Please visit the Biennial exhibition at the Whitney Museum, 945 Madison Avenue at 74th Street. Admission is $9.50 with student I.D. Write a paragraph about an art work in the Biennial exhibition that you like.

Syllabus || Course Description:

This course will introduce students to the major issues in designing a screen based interface: typography, organization of data, and the use of sound. HTML and Flash will be used as the primary tool to create the assignments. A review of the basic Flash concepts will also be covered. In addition, guest lecturers and studio and professional visits will be organized.

Students will be required to complete the following assignments in this course:

3 screen based interface assignments (min of 6 screens each)

Each assignment will be composed of an intro animation that culminates in a main page with linking to 4 sample pages. Storyboards for each assignment are required.

Class readings and discussions:
Within each topic both conceptual and technical readings will be assigned.

The following questions are suggestions of preparing reactions
* How does this reading connect with what we've already read/discussed in class?
* What do you agree with in the reading? What do you disagree with?
* What provokes a response/reaction, either good or bad?
* What differences do you see in your own beliefs and the beliefs informing the researcher's work?
* Is there anything that you don't understand?
* How can you relate this to your own work?
* What new insights did you gain?

Grades will be accessed based on class participation in discussions, attendance, and the 3 interface projects assignment

Attendance will be recorded for each class.
